WiDS: Women in Data Science 2022
Perspectives in Industry and Academia with Focus on Life Sciences
Bioinfo4Women joined the third edition of the “Women in Data Science – Perspectives in Industry and Academia” event, organized by the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (deNBI). The event is aimed to gather renowed female speakers from academia and industry will provide their recommendations on building careers in Data Science and related fields and show advancement opportunities.
From within the BIoinfo4Women initiative, Alba Jené participated in the Opening Address of the event by showcasing the local, national and international scales of action of the B4W initiative. Also, on the first Session on Data for Life Sciences – Perspectives in Academia, we had an excellent talk by Marta Melé, group leader at the Transcriptomics and Functional Genomics lab at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, titled “A career in Science studying our own genes“.
