Connect Session: Women in Computational Biology
The Network & Connect Session on Women in Computational Biology was held on September 7th, 2020, as part of the ECCB2020 Conference. The session aimed to provide an opportunity for women in the scientific field of computational biology to share their knowledge, experiences, and opinions on different initiatives and actions to enhance the role of women in this field. The session consisted of 10-minute presentations from five different associations, followed by a 35-minute Q&A session.
Workshop at Palau Macaya 2021
The Workshop Networking event on Gender Bias in Artificial Intelligence and Health aimed to build a future for equality. Different organizations shared their expertise, talents, and collaboration activities in promoting gender equality in their respective fields. Participants identified resource and team needs to further their initiatives. These included more women in postdoctoral programs in AI, more grants for master’s courses, more girls and women editing Wikipedia, and more resources to increase the impact of Women in Aerospace Europe.
Meeting with Women Leaders
The B4W program, within the framework of the inauguration of the BSC-Repsol building, organized a networking activity on October 8th to connect the BSC staff, especially women researchers and technicians, with women leaders in various fields. The main purpose of the activity was to change the perspective and perception towards women leaders and learn from their experiences. Additionally, the event aimed to create a community, make the B4W program known internally, and collect the concerns of the participants regarding the development of the professional career of women or other related issues.
